What area do you support and why?

I give to the area of greatest need fund this way I know the foundation will put the funds to where the need is the greatest.

What motivated you to start giving?

As IT, I supported Raisers Edge (the application used by the Foundations used for managing philanthropic activities) for many years.  I enjoyed working with all of the many foundation staff and was excited for the opportunity to do my part. Paul Richardson did a great job getting the word out about all the ways to get involved with our Dignity Health mission!

Why is it important to be engaged through philanthropy?

My family and I have been very blessed and I am a firm believer in “Pay it Forward”. We all need help at some point in our lives, and there are so many different ways to help. Donating PTO is super easy and provides great benefit to donor and recipients.

What’s your fondest memory of working at Dignity Health?

For me it has always been about the awesome people I get to work for and with. Although as part of business support IT, I do not have very much contact with our patients, I do get to assist a wide variety of our employees and work with many other support teams.  I get great satisfaction in helping people and listening to their stories. We have wonderful people here!

What’s one fun fact others might not know about you?

I have three grandchildren, all born in the month of April, the youngest two were born two weeks apart. April is a very expense month for me – lol.
