Gratitude spotlight: World Gratitude Day

A portrait of Kevin CroweKevin Crowe, Director, Grateful Patient and Family Fundraising

In September we celebrated World Gratitude Day for the first time as an organization. Our goal was to thank everyone who contributes to our culture of gratitude and to recognize the importance of expressing gratitude every day. Our goal was also to begin a conversation that we hope to carry on throughout the coming year.

We are thrilled with the organization’s participation and World Gratitude Day’s reach beyond philanthropy. Approximately 15 Dignity Health social media accounts posted World Gratitude Day content. These accounts included foundations, service areas, hospitals, and departments. Users outside of Dignity Health, including personal accounts and companies, shared and interacted with World Gratitude Day messaging, propelling gratitude and kindness into our communities. The social media content generated over 12.8K individual impressions and the “Celebrate gratitude - today and every day!” video has been viewed over 800 times since its release on September 20, 2018.In September we celebrated World Gratitude Day for the first time as an organization. Please join us over the course of the next year as we elaborate on several of the stories that began to unfold in this video. Early in the New Year and first in the series, you will meet Bette, whose career spanned decades as an actress, model, and bull fighter.

We continue to gather new stories and welcome your contacting us with ideas, suggestions, and recommendations for people with who we should connect. Please contact Kevin Crowe, grateful patient and family fundraising director, or Christina Vanoverbeke, Dignity Health philanthropy communications director, with any leads you wish to explore. You can also continue the conversation online using #GratitudeEveryDay and by tagging @SupportDignityHealth.
