Two generous gifts support vital work in Nevada

The St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation received a $2,000,000 gift from the Estate of Kirk Kerkorian to support the creation of a Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program and for operating support for the Dream Fund Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic.

GME is being planned to help retain physicians in southern Nevada — a priority of the Kerkorian Estate. The $1.5 million earmarked for GME will allow the hospital to establish medical school partnerships, align with physicians trainers, and create additional programs such as physician grand rounds.

The Dream Fund Pediatric Endocrinology Clinic, part of Dignity Health Medical Group Nevada, was created with an initial donation by Mr. Kerkorian. This $500,000 donation will help the clinic treat uninsured and underinsured patients, as it is the only hospital-based not-for-profit clinic of its kind in the region.
