A message from our leadership

(May 2018) We have a huge fundraising revenue goal this year — the largest we’ve ever set — to raise $124.9 million. Through the third quarter, Dignity Health affiliated fundraising foundations raised $78.4 million compared to a third quarter year-to-date budget of $80 million, which reflects a $1.6 million negative variance. I know in these final weeks leading up to fiscal year-end that our foundations feel the pressure to make up that difference and meet our goal. I also know how committed each and every one of our philanthropy team members is to raising these dollars in support of our mission to provide compassionate, high-quality, affordable health services while serving and advocating for the poor and disenfranchised.

The work we’ve done toward building our major gift pipelines is proving to be quite fruitful. I celebrate each time I receive a call from one of our chief philanthropy officers who is sharing word of a transformational gift that’s been confirmed — and there have been several such gifts in recent months!

Each dollar donated to our ministry has a special story behind it and a special purpose toward helping us fulfil our mission. Some of these stories in this month's newsletter are shared with our deepest gratitude. We hope you will forward this newsletter to colleagues, friends, and community members and join us in lifting up the meaningful and lasting impact donors are creating at Dignity Health.
