St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation and Smith’s Food & Drug Stores, a division of Kroger, worked together to raise $575,730 to assist families struggling to pay their child’s medical costs after trauma or serious illness.

Smith’s Food & Drug Stores has supported St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation’s Charity Care Program and its Children’s Miracle Network Hospital’s pediatric units for seven years.

“To date, Smith’s has donated over $3 million to support the children’s departments at the hospital. By helping Dignity Health St. Rose Dominican's Pediatric Centers heal the children of the Las Vegas community, we are helping our customers’ who need our support,” says Smith’s division corporate affairs manager, Aubriana Martindale.

Smith’s customers are invited to join store associates in fundraising efforts throughout Southern Nevada and Northern Arizona’s 54 locations during its 4-week campaign beginning each April.

Customers are asked to make a donation at the check stands, and any change dropped into the check stand coin boxes is added to the effort. The funds raised are a combination of efforts between associates, customers, and Smith’s corporate gifts.
