A message from our senior vice president

Image of Fred Najjar(August 20170 - It’s the start of a new fiscal year and its arrival brings an opportunity to pause and reflect on all that was achieved over the last 12 months.

It’s been an amazing time for Dignity Health Philanthropy! We learned that the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) named us No. 1 in performance in 2016, an honor and a testament to the vibrant, high-quality work happening every day across our system.

We were in great company in the top 10, among notable health care organizations including Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Sutter Health, and Miami Children’s Hospital.

This was the second consecutive year we ranked among the top 10 high-performing health care fundraisers in North America by AHP. High performers are determined by the comprehensive nature of their fundraising programs mixed with an overall efficiency in how they operate.

In fiscal year 2017, our foundations and system philanthropy raised a record-breaking $116.6 million in support of our health care ministries at Dignity Health. It was the fourth year in a row that fundraising revenue was greater than $110 million.

As our 31 foundations across Arizona, California and Nevada continue to strive to provide essential fundraising support this year, I am energized by the stories included in this quarter’s newsletters and excited to see what comes next as we strive assist Dignity Health in realizing its mission of providing compassionate, patient-centered care on an individual level.

Thank you!

Fred Najjar
