Dignity Health Philanthropy Names Daniel Murphy as
Vice President of Philanthropy

Daniel MurphySan Francisco, CA (February 2, 2015) – Dignity Health Philanthropy, the philanthropic arm of Dignity Health with 31 foundations, has named Daniel Murphy as the new  vice president of philanthropy for the Community Hospital of San Bernardino Foundation and St. Bernardine Medical Center Foundation in the Inland Empire service area.

Mr. Murphy, who had been vice president of institutional advancement at Heritage Valley Health System in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, will lead the development efforts of both foundations. In the role of vice president of philanthropy, he will oversee both foundations as their chief philanthropy officer, while both foundations remain independent.

"Daniel Murphy’s credentials, character, and personality are a winning combination to take our two foundations to the next level.”

Prior to Heritage Valley Health System, he worked for Robert Morris University, as associate vice president for institutional advancement.

Mr. Murphy has a master’s degree in college administration and a bachelor’s degree in English both from Miami University in Oxford, OH.

He and his family will live in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
