On April 16, 2015, 50 enthusiastic teams comprised of more than 400 community members took to the streets of Santa Maria to sell $1.00 "special edition" Day of Hope Santa Maria Times newspapers in support of Marian Cancer Care patients and families at Mission Hope Cancer Center. Thanks to the overwhelming support from businesses, civic groups, students, and individuals, Day of Hope raised in excess of $135,000, far surpassing the event goal of $100,000.

For so many, Day of Hope’s mission hits close to home. As a result, countless remarkably moving Day of Hope stories emerged of how so many are touched by cancer. Due to the generosity of the Santa Maria community, 100 percent of all Day of Hope contributions will benefit Marian Cancer Care services – providing vital hope and healing to patients and families in need.
