Paul Richardson

Director, Philanthropic Services

Paul Richardson is currently responsible for the development, acquisition, and stewardship of all donors for Dignity Health Philanthropy.  Mr.Richardson also manages philanthropic communications for the systems office, with a focus on new media.

Prior to joining Dignity Health, Mr. Richardson served as the associate vice president for alumni relations as well as the executive director of the San José State University Alumni Association (SJSUAA). In his role as associate vice president, he managed three departments: Annual Giving and Special Gifts, Alumni Relations, and University Events. Mr. Richardson has also been a director of development, handling major gifts for one of the seven colleges at San José State University.

A native of Ohio, Mr. Richardson has degrees in music performance and music education, and a minor in peace studies from Bluffton University.  He received a graduate degree in college student development theory at Kent State University, and a certificate from the Social Justice Training Institute.  His personal passions include a commitment to HIV/AIDS research and LGBT equality, and he has been recognized by several organizations for his leadership and community efforts on those issues.
