Gail Summers is currently the vice president of philanthropy for the Dignity Health St. John’s Healthcare Foundation in Oxnard, California, serving both the St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard and St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital in Camarillo.

For the past eight and a half years, Ms. Summers held the position of Director of Development at the Stein Eye Institute, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Through her leadership, the Institute raised more than $103 million as part of the university’s Centennial Campaign. She expanded the donor base, established key partnerships and created successful fundraising strategies.

Prior to UCLA, Ms. Summers served as an executive in the health care industry, which includes global product management with Bausch & Lomb and leading marketing and business development efforts for start-up surgery centers. Ms. Summers has more than 20 years of experience in health care and education in both private enterprise and the nonprofit sector.

Summers holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School and a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of New Orleans.
