Emergency Preparedness: Mobile in Minutes

Woodland Healthcare Foundation

decontamination trailer ready in minutes

Open house and training of new decontamination trailer.

Dignity Health's Woodland Memorial Hospital recently hosted first responders from the Sacramento region for an open house and training featuring a new decontamination trailer. The trailer, made possible by a grant from Yolo County to the Woodland Healthcare Foundation, is the only one in Northern California.

The trailer is housed at Woodland Memorial Hospital and can be operational in minutes. It is a dramatic improvement over the temporary tents previously used, reducing delays, providing more privacy to ease patients’ anxiety and stress, and enhancing care. The trailer can be deployed for agricultural and industrial incidents, as well as for acts of possible bioterrorism.

Earlier this year, the Yolo County Board of Supervisors awarded $268,240 to the Woodland Healthcare Foundation to purchase equipment such as the decontamination trailer, and expanding Woodland Memorial Hospital’s pediatric trauma, emergency services, and our ability to serve our community.
